"Greenwoman Magazine celebrates garden writing in all its forms: fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, commentary, biography, art, and comics! Daring and fun, Greenwoman is for the hip gardener who loves digging into the world of art and environmental though that underlies gardening."
Greenwoman Magazine is a completely independent, one-woman-owned-and-run publication. (Well, two-women, when Sandra's daughter Zora, who is the Deputy Editor, has time from her full-time college work).
There are so many great pieces of literature in this magazine, but I wanted to share a little piece of my favorite - a poem by Sylvia Woods titled "Perfect Eggs."
Perfect Eggs
Should come from happy hens,
dams who roam free,
eat as they please,
consort with roosters
they pick themselves.

I'm sure this meant a lot to me because as I was reading it, I looked out my window and saw our happy flock of chickens freely roaming around the farm, pecking away at their choice of meals. :)
I highly recommend subscribing to Greenwoman Magazine, which you can do on their website here. Digital as well as print subscriptions are available. You can also follow Greenwoman Magazine on Facebook. Happy reading!
A free digital copy of this magazine was provided to me in exchange for my honest review.
